Who Is Responsible
UnitConversionPlus is published by [LEGAL NAME OF WEBSITE OPERATOR]. Editorial decisions, including what is published and what is corrected, are made by [NAME OR ROLE]. You can contact us at [EDITORIAL EMAIL ADDRESS] or through the contact page.
Our Editorial Purpose
UnitConversionPlus provides unit converters and explanations designed to make measurements easier to understand and use. Our aim is to publish content that is accurate, practical and clearly written for a general audience, and to explain where a result comes from, not just to display it.
How We Create Content
Pages are built from exact unit definitions, recognised measurement standards, official publications and subject-specific reference material. Each page starts from a reader's question, such as why a drive shows less space than its label or how a metric cable length compares with a route measured in feet. Before a page is published, we:
- check the formula, units and definitions;
- recalculate every figure and example;
- open the source links and confirm they support the statement;
- label estimates and invented examples as such; and
- read the page for clarity and for claims we cannot support.
[Keep only the steps you actually carry out.]
Converter Standards
Converters use exact definitions where they exist: for example, 1 inch is exactly 25.4 millimetres, 1 foot is exactly 0.3048 metres, and 1 international pound is exactly 0.45359237 kilograms. Where a unit name has more than one meaning, the page says which one it uses. Examples are decimal and binary data units (kB, MB and GB against KiB, MiB and GiB), US and imperial gallons, and the international and US survey foot.
Some quantities depend on conventions or conditions, such as the length of a calendar month or the size of a video file at a given quality. We say when a figure is an estimate or a maximum, and when an example is illustrative. Results may be rounded for readability, and a rounded result should not be read as more precise than the original information.
Sources and Citations
We favour standards bodies, government publications, recognised scientific organisations, universities and official product or industry documentation. When we rely on a company's own figures or on provider estimates, the page says so. Source links are included where they help readers verify a definition, figure, historical event or other substantive claim. A link does not imply that the source endorses UnitConversionPlus or is responsible for our interpretation.
We do not reproduce substantial parts of another publisher's work. External material is paraphrased, or quoted briefly and attributed. [Images are our own illustrations, or are credited with their source and licence. Edit this to match the images you actually use.]
Originality
We aim to publish original writing that adds practical value instead of repeating common descriptions found elsewhere. Established facts and definitions will naturally appear on other sites, but we write them in our own words and add examples, context or limitations. If you believe our content improperly reproduces your work, please contact us through our Copyright & DMCA Policy.
Use of AI Tools and Human Review
[Describe what is true. Suggested wording if it applies:] We use AI tools to help with research, drafting and editing. They do not replace editorial responsibility. A person checks every figure, calculation and source before a page is published, and we do not treat an AI-generated statement as a reliable source. Important claims are confirmed against reference material or by direct calculation.
Safety and Important Decisions
Some pages involve quantities where an error could have consequences, such as pressure, fuel, loads or electrical values. A converter changes the unit of a measurement, and it cannot check a gauge, an equipment rating or the suitability of a product.
Results are for general information and are not engineering, medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. For any consequential use, follow the manufacturer's instructions, the applicable standards and the advice of a suitably qualified professional.
Advertising and Editorial Independence
[If you use ads:] UnitConversionPlus is free to use and is supported by advertising. Advertisers cannot influence our conversions, conclusions or explanations. Advertising should be visually distinguishable from editorial content and converter controls, and an advertisement is not an endorsement of the advertiser or its products. [Delete this section if there are no ads.]
Corrections
We welcome reports of factual, mathematical, technical, typographical or accessibility errors. When we confirm a material error, we correct it and check related pages that may be affected. If an error changes the meaning or result of a page, we add a correction note explaining what changed. Minor spelling and formatting fixes may be made without a note.
A correction request should include the page address, the passage or result in question, and a source or calculation if you have one.
Updates and "Last Updated" Dates
We review a page when we find an error, receive credible feedback, change a tool, find a broken source, or learn that a standard has changed. A "last updated" date means that the page received a meaningful editorial or technical revision. We do not change it for cosmetic edits, and it does not mean every linked source was revised on that date.
